Recreational and Competitive Programs run for 9 months, from the beginning of September to the end of May. The recital is held the last week of May/ beginning of June.

All genres of dance are gender neutral.

  • Students with longer hair must tie their hair up in every class
  • Ballet: A bodysuit (preferably black), pink tights, pink ballet shoes, hair in a neat ponytail or bun
    • Boys: Black t-shirt, black pants or shorts, black ballet slippers
  • Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre, Acrobatic Arts, Lyrical, Contemporary: Form fitting clothing must be worn. 
    • Examples include: bodysuit, leggings, shorts, tights, t-shirt, tank top or bra top 
    • Note: Jazz shoes must be worn for jazz – all other genres bare feet is permitted
  • Hip-Hop: Loose clothing permitted.
    • Examples include: t-shirts, jogging pants, leggings, indoor running shoes (no jeans or outdoor shoes permitted in the studio)

Classes run from 45 min to 1.5 hours depending on the group age and class type. Depending on the calendar year the program may be 32 – 36 weeks long.

To ensure quality of instruction and learning experience, classes on the first floor are limited to 16 – 18 participants. Classes on the second floor are limited to 10 – 12 students.

We accept children of all ages and abilities into our recreational training programs. We offer beginner and intermediate level classes. 

Students ages 2 -3 years old, should start with our 11-week Creative Movement sessions. This program is designed to introduce your child to the basics of ballet, hip-hop, acro and jazz, in a fun and creative environment. Students will participate in music and movement activities that focus on the development of fine and gross motor skills. Each week is themed to increase engagement.

Students ages 4 – 5 or 6 – 7 years old that have never taken dance before, should register for one of our Mini Try-It programs OR one of our Mini Recreational Training combo classes. 

Our Try-It programs run for 8 – 11 weeks in length and introduce students to jazz, ballet, hip-hop, tap and acro. This program type is great for students who want to try a bit of everything before committing to a specific genre of dance.

If you know for sure that your child has an interest in dance, you can register for one of our two combo classes: hip-hop/ballet OR jazz/acro OR our mini tap class. 

Students 8+ can register for one of our beginner recreational training programs in the following genres:

Parents of students 7 and under may access the reception area while students take class. However, due to limited space, we typically ask parents to drop off and pick up children each night. Parents of our mini programs are invited to watch the last 5 minutes of class in the 1st half of the year.

Absolutely! Dancsync Academy is an inclusive community organization. We believe everyone can and should dance. We welcome all people to our dance family. Please contact us to inquire about our specialized programs. We will help you find the best program to suit your unique needs and abilities.

Registration can be completed online. Please click here or on the purple REGISTER button in the top right hand corner of the website to select your desired program. OR you may register in-person by appointment. You may call the studio to set up an in-person registration time.

The last chance to register for a full-year program is October 1st (Some exceptions apply). 11-week sessions are set up throughout the year for families not looking to commit to a full year program.

If you register late for an 11-week session or full year recreational training program, you only pay for the classes remaining. 

If you register late for a competitive program, a discount may be applied at the discretion of the director. This will be determined on a case by case basis.

We accept Interac e-transfers, cash and/or credit card payments. Note: a surcharge will be applied for all credit card payments.

Teachers will make every effort to find a substitute instructor if he/she/they are going to be absent from a scheduled class. If a teacher cannot find coverage, we will provide a make-up class for students. If the cancellation is due to inclement weather, there will NOT be a makeup class provided.

Cancellations will be shared by email and posted on our Facebook and Instagram pages.

Payment in Full – If you decide to leave a class part way through the year, a credit will be applied to your account that can be used in the summer or during the next dance season. 

2-Installments – If you decide to leave a class after the 1st installment is paid, a credit  (for any remaining classes in the 1st term) will be applied to your account that can be used in the summer or during the next dance season. 

If you leave a class before the 2nd installment is due, you will not be required to pay the 2nd installment. 

If you leave after the 2nd-installment is paid, a credit will be applied to your account that can be used in the summer or during the next dance season. 

Note: All credits are based on the number of remaining classes in the current term.

Monthly Payments – Monthly payments are due on the 1st of each month. If you decide to leave a class part way through the year, you will not be required to pay any subsequent monthly payments. Note: credits/refunds will not be granted for monthly plans.

A trial class can be set up for students for a drop-in rate of $20.00 + HST. This fee will be applied to program tuition if you decide to register after the trial class. We do not refund the drop-in rate if you decide NOT to register.

There is parking outside of the studio facility, as well as, on-street parking directly outside the commercial plaza.

Yes, our recreational and competitive students perform at our year end recital. The show takes place at a specified theatre in the peel region area at the end of May and beginning of June. Students are required to attend a rehearsal at the theatre a few days before the show(s). The recital is a fantastic show that celebrates the hard work and dedication of our wonderful staff and students. We invite you to attend with your family and friends to recognize the achievements of your child(ren) and their peers.

Students may participate in an audition to be considered for one of our competitive companies. We select students based on skill and age for each genre of dance. Auditions are set up with one of our teachers for 30 minutes. Students are asked to demonstrate a variety of skills and are taught a short routine to perform. Students may be asked to join an existing class to see how he/she/they dance alongside current company members.

The end of April through until the end of May. We compete at 3 competitions in the GTA – one in April and two in May. An optional competition is offered for students competing with a solo, duet, trio or small group mid-April. This competition is not mandatory.

Yes, we offer solo, duet, trio or small group private lessons to both recreational and competitive students. Please contact us to inquire about private or semi-private lessons.

We plan and facilitate a number of special events throughout the year, including (but not limited to), our studio Welcome Back event, spirit weeks, The Brampton Santa Claus Parade, Dance Conventions, our winter studio party, fundraising events and our year end Dancsync Gala. We will inform families of all upcoming events via email, social media, by posting announcements on our website calendar, or in-studio. Please ensure, we have an active email address throughout the year.

Yes! We participate in numerous community events, including The Brampton Santa Claus Parade.

There is an annual registration fee of $30.00 (individual) or $40.00 per family, a costume fee(s), and digital photography/ videography fees. Note: Additional fees apply for our competitive programs.
